The Guardian’s Sustainability Awards 2015

06 May 2015

We were very proud this year to have been shortlisted for The Guardian’s Sustainability Awards 2015, in the category of Carbon & Energy Management.

This category was looking for a company that could show that its green initiatives were consistent, that they impacted their entire business and that it was reducing emissions to help meet U.K.’s carbon reduction targets.

Our Big Green Plan was able to demonstrate all of these requirements, as our green initiatives have been built and are running across all areas, from ‘farm to fork’, and we have already reduced our carbon emissions by 31%. Our plan also shows how we are making use of our considerable land and assets in numerous ways to create a more sustainable business, with renewable energy at its core. We are proud of our green projects built to date, including wind turbines, solar farms, a waste plant and implementation of biomass boilers across our farms, and will continue to work passionately towards our aim to become the U.K’s greenest farmer by 2020.
