The Bernard Matthews Fund administered by the Norfolk Community Foundation, supports charities, voluntary and community groups working throughout Norfolk, the Waveney area of Suffolk and Lincolnshire (Boston and Spalding areas) and can award grants of up to £2,000.
The Bernard Mathews fund was launched in October 2009 and has already provided over £60,000 worth in grants to help a wide range of rural charities and voluntary initiatives.Bernard Matthews aim in working with the Norfolk Community Foundation is to support and invest in the local community enabling us to provide funding to the hardest to reach communities through mainly smaller scale charities and community groups that focus within Bernard Matthews’ heartland.Andrew Sherwood, Human Resources Director at Bernard Matthews, commented: “Supporting groups located in the heart of our communities has always been important to Bernard Matthews and the fund is just one aspect of our commitment to corporate responsibility. The fund aims to give at a truly local level and make a real difference to community support projects. “The Bernard Matthews fund seeks to support projects that address a clear need, such as disability or rural isolation and those where its support will make the most impact.
