Easiest Ever Canapés

Put on a spread to impress with these mouth-watering canapés!

I made some delicious canapés using the Bernard Matthews Mini Kievs that are perfect for a bit of finger food when you have friends or family over. The kievs are low in fat*, hugely versatile, and they can be used in loads of different snacks and dishes. The canapés are really quick and easy to make and they are super tasty too.”

Easiest Ever Canapés Recipe


Ingredients:
  • 1 Packet Bernard Matthews Mini Kievs pre-cooked in the oven (follow packet instructions)
  • 1 tin of Sardines
  • ½ a Cucumber
  • 10 Cherry Tomatoes
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper
  • 1 Yellow Bell Pepper
  • 20 Round Crackers
  • 1 tub Hummus
  • ½ tub Philadelphia Cream Cheese
  • ½ tub Fat Free Greek Yoghurt
  • Black Pepper to season
  • Plastic kid-friendly cocktail sticks

Mini Kievs with Yoghurt/Pepper
Method
  1. Place a round cracker first and add a dollop of yoghurt on top.
  2. Cut your BM Mini Kiev in half and, face up, place the half on top of the yoghurt
  3. Cut 1 thin slice of yellow pepper and 1 thin slice of red pepper
  4. Carefully, with a cocktail stick, push the peppers inside the Mini Kiev so that the sides are pointing upwards. See images above and below.
  5. Sprinkle black pepper over the canapé to season.


Sardine and Mini Kiev Canapé with Hummus and Cucumber
Method
  1. Place a cracker on the plate first and add a spoonful of hummus on top of the cracker.
  2. Cut your BM Mini Kiev in half and, face up, place the half on top of the hummus
  3. Cut enough of the sardine to be able to push inside the Mini Kiev. Do the same for the cucumber, so the cucumber and sardine are sitting side by side inside the Mini Kiev.
  4. Sprinkle black pepper to season
